Junior Historians

What is it?

A multi-tier summer program designed to foster a life long appreciation for history. Each level learns new aspects of local history, as well as skills used in the museum field.

Levels

Explorers: K-4th grade
– First Saturday of the month
– Explorers will get an introduction into local history

Pioneers: 5th-8th grade
– Second Saturday of the month
– Pioneers will begin to learn skills utilized in the museum field

Homesteaders: 9th-12th grade
– Third Saturday of the month
– Homesteaders will research, design, and implement an exhibit.

An Open House at the end of the summer will be a celebration of the program and an opening reception for the exhibit put on by the Homesteaders.

2022 Junior Historians has been canceled due to staffing issues. We hope to be able to bring this program back for summer 2023.
